Asus had set up a folder for itself (Task Scheduler (Local) > Task Scheduler Library > ASUS"), so I made a new task there.ĥ) Name your new task (I chose "ASUS Memory Hog Killer").Ħ) Triggers: 3am, 9am, 3pm and 9pm worked for meħ) Actions: Start a program. I put mine in a folder named "C:\Batch"Ĥ) Set up a new task in Task Scheduler (in Control Panel under Administrative Tools). Set colListOfServices = objWMIService.ExecQuery("Select * from Win32_Service Where Name ='" & strServiceName & "'")ģ) Move the text file to the folder of your choosing. Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:!\\.\root\cimv2") I'll spare you the details of the search, but this is what worked for me:ġ) Create a text file, then rename it to MemoryHog.vbs - you choose the name. It didn't work like I'd hoped, so I continued to dig.

I need help removing this last file that won't go away and replacing my Security Center and ability to update MSE and Windows in general. I ran the scans again after a reboot, again into Safe Mode with Networking, and SAS still finds one file called Rogue/Agent. Super Anti-Spyware found quite a few problems that I have removed. I used, in Safe Mode with Networking and in this order, Rkill, Kaspersky's TDSSKiller, MalwareBytes, Super Anti-Spyware, and finally MSE again. After a failed attempt to update Microsoft Security Essentials, I noticed that the Security Center was also missing from Services and proceeded to run more scans. I was able to oust the infection with MalwareBytes, or so I thought, and restore BFE with help from this site, I believe. I first noticed it when my Base Filtering Engine was missing from my Services, along with IpSec Policy Services and one other that I can't remember. A few days ago, I was infected by an unknown piece of malware.
